Tranglo shares joy with Rumah Victory kids

In an effort to give back to the community, Tranglo organised a visit to Rumah Victory Children and Youth Home in Taman OUG, Kuala Lumpur, on 28 July 2018 to bring some cheer to the underprivileged children. The event was in line with Tranglo's commitment to its corporate social responsibility initiatives and to enable its staff to share their knowledge and experience with the less fortunate.

Founded in 1988, Rumah Victory was envisioned as a drug eradication centre. As societal demands grew, three branches were established – Rumah Victory Drug Rehabilitation Centre, Rumah Victory Elder Home and Rumah Victory Children and Youth Home – to cater to specific needs of the community. The Children and Youth Home, which Tranglo visited, provides a home for underprivileged children, including orphans, rebellious youths and those from dysfunctional families, and transform their lives through counselling, instilling discipline, education and character building.

At the centre, Tranglo staff engaged in icebreaking activities with the children and held competitions for them. These included dancing, human Bingo, charades and painting without brush. The endless laughter and smiles all around were infectious. The children opened up to Tanglo’s employees, who formed a strong and meaningful bond with the youngsters, and learnt that simplicity is the best form of happiness. The children were also delighted to receive prizes for their efforts – but everyone’s a winner when it comes to having fun.

Tranglo chief executive officer Sia Hui Yong said the experience benefited not only the kids, but the firm’s personnel. “At Tranglo, we believe in a future of seamless connectivity and children are the future of a nation. We want nothing more than to invest and nurture the seeds of hope so that they can grow up free of the burden of the past and proudly step into the future. My employees learnt that perseverance breeds positive outcomes. In turn, we taught them how to communicate effectively, and be confident and responsible individuals.”

Tranglo’s personnel, the centre’s staff and its children ended the day with fond memories that provided some respite from a hectic world.
