Dubai/Johannesburg – Tranglo and MTN Group, the leading mobile telecommunications group in Africa and Middle East, have teamed up to enable people in Asia, the European Union and the Middle East to send prepaid airtime to MTN’s customers.
With the service, Tranglo’s extensive sender network in key countries such as Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, United Kingdom, United States, UAE, etc will be able to send airtime credit back to their loved ones on MTN’s wide footprint. For example, a mobile subscriber in Saudi Arabia can transfer the airtime credit from their Saudi prepaid account to their family or friends on MTN Syria’s network. All airtime transfers are seamless, instantaneous and secure through Tranglo’s gloTransfer platform. Both sender and recipient receive confirmation SMS once the transfer is made.
“We are proud to be associated with MTN Group to offer international airtime transfers to their customers. The Africa and Middle East countries in which MTN operates, have a strong presence of migrant diaspora, thus the service will be highly practical and effective. We are confident that the Tranglo sender network will be able to take advantage of this service.” says Mohammad Gharaybeh, Executive Director of Tranglo Middle East/Africa.
“We are particularly pleased about this partnership because by offering MTN customers the convenience of cross-border airtime transfer, the service is further helping to connect our customers with their friends and families based overseas”, said Christian de Faria, MTN Group Chief Commercial Officer. The service is currently available to MTN Yemen and MTN Syria via various sender channels managed by Tranglo. The service will be extended to key MTN operations in the near future.
