Philippines-based PLDT Global Corporation (PGC), a subsidiary of leading telecommunications and digital services provider PLDT, is expanding its partnership with cross-border payment hub Tranglo.
Since 2011, Tranglo has been an active partner of PGC. In 2013, the Malaysia-based payout specialist teamed up with Smart, PLDT’s wholly-owned wireless communications subsidiary, to boost aid for survivors of Typhoon Yolanda.
In the latest partnership, Filipinos overseas can now get Free Bee call cards through Tranglo’s channels and partners in Kuala Lumpur, Indonesia, Hong Kong and other Southeast Asian countries. Tranglo’s network spans over 100 countries and cover more than 250 mobile operators.
Tranglo founder Sia Hui Yong said: “We are very excited to collaborate with PGC on its new product. Free Bee, on the back of Tranglo’s technology and expertise, can offer more affordable call options for Filipinos living and working abroad.”
PGC chief commercial officer Albert Villa-Real said: “Through Free Bee, this partnership with Tranglo helps us achieve our goal to empower global Filipinos with innovative products and services to communicate without borders.”
