Telkomsel partners with Tranglo to offer international airtime topup service

  • February 21, 2011

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 1, 2010 – Telkomsel, the leading operator of cellular telecommunications services in Indonesia, has partnered up with Tranglo to provide an international top up service to its pre-paid subscribers. “We are delighted to partner with Telkomsel to offer this service to all Telkomsel prepaid subscribers especially those who have loved ones working abroad,” says HY Sia, CEO of Tranglo. “This is a significant milestone as we are Telkomsel’s first non-telco international channel partner.”

With this partnership in place, Telkomsel’s customers are now able to receive airtime top up from their loved ones who are working overseas. All this is transacted via SMS, making it a quick and simple process. The transfer will be done through Tranglo’s secure gloTransfer platform. Both sender and recipient will get a confirmation of successful transaction via SMS. “Communication is so important especially for those who have loved ones working abroad,” says Gideon Edie Purnomo, Vice President of Channel Management of Telkomsel. “With this partnership in place, we can now further facilitate such communication by allowing top ups to be made from overseas. This will also reduce the financial burden of the recipients,” he adds.
