XL’s prepaid customers can now request fixed amount of airtime from friends and family members working abroad by simply sending an SMS. The service is offered via Tranglo’s gloRequest secure international airtime request platform.
To execute such a request, the user simply has to type MINTA<space><DonorNumber> <space><denom>send the SMS message to 313. If the request is approved, talk-time credits will then be transferred to them via gloTransfer, a related service from Tranglo. Both requests and transfers are instant, easy and secure. And both requester and sender are notified by SMS immediately.
